This weekend I needed a feel-good movie and I watched “Family Switch“. Of course I knew one of its main characters from the hit series “Wednesday” and knowing how much she is loved, I thought it might be a good idea to write about her.
Have you guessed who I’m talking about? Well, of course Emma Myers.
For the premiere, Myers donned a Rodarte green silk charmeuse and black chantilly lace bias dress with velvet bow details from the Spring 2024 Ready-to-Wear collection, paired with black Gianvito Rossi sandals.
She complemented her outfit with black lace gloves, a Panthère de Cartier ring in white gold, onyx, set with two emeralds, another one with a ruby, a black sparkly clasp clutch, diamond earrings and a Cartier Juste Un Clou bracelet in 18k white gold and diamonds.
Emma‘s makeup was very simple, indeed her makeup artist Dana Delaney just accentuated her lips with a striking light red lipstick. An even base and a touch of black mascara finished off the look.
Her hair was styled in a wavy bob and the upper part of it was held back by a Jennifer Behr black bow, to add to the romantic feel of the dress.
Myers collaborated with stylist Amanda Lim for the look, and I think the actress wanted to convey some aspects of her character’s personality through the clothes.
CC is indeed very strong in her convictions and she doesn’t care about stereotypes, she doesn’t dress for the male gaze, but she opts solely for what’s comfortable (hence why I think about the lace glove as a symbol of rebellion).
When her mother inhabits her body, she goes through a transformation, wearing dressy clothes, which can be reflected in the dreamy Rodarte gown she wore for the occasion.
As always, mine are just observations, but I’d like to think about it this way. What are your thoughts?
