It’s a different feeling writing about people who you feel close and part of the cultural Zeitgeist, especially when those same people became famous in the span of a few years, thanks to professions that are considered pretty new.
In this environment, Emma Chamberlain crafted a different path for herself, leveraging what she’s naturally good at, to advance other business ventures.
Being a fashion disruptor is part of her public public persona and I am not afraid to say that I’ve been taking notes.
For last year’s LACMA Art + Film Gala, Emma wore a light brown Gucci short dress adorned with flower-like beads from the Spring 2024 Ready-to-Wear collection, paired with red patent leather Gucci Signoria slingback pumps with a gold chain in the back and 105mm heels.
In a brief moment on the red carpet, she was seen carrying–what seemed to be–a white/cream Gucci Bamboo tote bag and she also accessorized her ensemble with diamond earrings and a rigid mini Cartier Baignoire watch in white gold featuring a beaded crown set with 552 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 5 carats.
When it comes to makeup, you can rest assured that Lilly Keys will always create for you the smokiest, sultry eye you’ve ever seen, while keeping it extremely wearable.
Keys has a dark touch in her artistry and in this instance she used a terracotta eyeshadow that matched Chamberlain‘s dress but also contrasted with the color of her eyes–something I truly die for.
The hair was styled by Marissa Marino in a short, slightly wavy/messy do, going with the grunge vibe of the makeup.
Of course the nails were matched to the dress and manicurist Thuy Nguyen opted for a long, dark brown square manicure which gave the outfit an even chicer feel (perfect for Fall if you’d like to replicate it).
Emma was styled by Jared Ellner whose track record speaks for itself.
Ellner knows how to push the envelope and when it comes to the internet personality, he perfectly balances when it’s time to pull from the runway and when it’s time to pull from the archives.
She never looks too mature or too infantilized and that’s what you want because at this stage of her fame, people can be brutal and the scrutiny is off the charts, whether you do good or bad: a true double-edged sword.

According to the event’s official statement: “On Saturday November 4, 2023, notables from the art, film, fashion, and entertainment industries gathered at LACMA for its twelfth annual Art+Film Gala honoring artist Judy Baca, along with leading American filmmaker David Fincher.
LACMA trustee Eva Chow and actor Leonardo DiCaprio will co-chaired the event for the twelfth consecutive year.”

“Proceeds from the annual Art+Film Gala go toward underwriting LACMA’s initiative to make film more central to the museum’s curatorial programming, while also funding LACMA’s broader mission. This includes exhibitions, acquisitions, and educational programming, in addition to screenings that explore the intersection of art and film.
The Art+Film Gala was once again made possible by Gucci‘s longstanding and generous support.”
Additional support was provided by Audi.
