Today I needed a palate cleanser, hence why I decided to write about someone who I know strives for simplicity and effortlessness whenever possible: Emily Ratajkowski.

She was also one of the first to wear a certain French brand’s new creation under a different creative leadership in a long time, so I thought it would have been a great idea to mention it and talk about it.

If you are eager to know more, just keep reading.

For last year’s Academy Museum Gala, Ratajkowski donned a light blue Jean Paul Gaultier dress with half exaggerated structured shoulders and a bare back from the Spring-Summer 2026 “Junior” collection, designed by the new Creative Director Duran Lantink.

To accessorize the dress, the brunette stunner opted for a pair of Briony Raymond stud diamond earrings and silver Aquazzura Olie Plateau 115 sandals.

She was made up by Pat McGrath who complemented her hair color with a very earthy palette: a brown smokey eyeshadow masterfully blended on the lids and towards the temples, a flick of black eyeliner to intensify her eyes and abundant mascara on the upper and lower lash line to help the model exude even more sultriness.

Emily‘s hair was styled by Jennifer Yepez in a sleek, middle parted do, adding a bit of movement just to the ends.

The dress was already the star of the look, so I think this hairstyle was probably the most suitable for the occasion.

The American model was styled by Danielle Goldberg, your go-to choice for striking simplicity.

Goldberg‘s attention to fabrics and the way they wrap your body combined with her ability to say a lot without exposing herself too much have proved to be the winning formula in the cluttered field of celebrity styling.

We now know how to recognize her gentle touch and I don’t think I am mistaken when I say that the looks she is creating today will be a solid foundation for the mood boards of tomorrow.

Quality over quantity and timelessness over trends.
