Today is a very hot day and my immediate thought was to write about something that could give me a sense of relief, because I really need it.

What came to mind was Emily Ratajkowski attending the CFDA Fashion Awards last year, so go ahead if you’d like to know more about it.

For the award show, Ratajkowski donned a khaki sage Tory Burch ‘Goddess‘ silk jersey dress from the Spring-Summer 2024 collection. The dress’ feather-weight materials and its layers built structure, while its micro hemline gave it a modern spirit, conveying a sense of lightness.

The outfit was complemented with a pair of Paul Andrew ‘Peep‘ mules in custom creme satin, with their signature sculptural stiletto heel, a Brilliant Earth ‘Garbo‘ Diamond Bracelet featuring over 200 round diamonds sparkling from every angle, and a Jeffrey Levinson ‘Elina Plus‘ Clutch in Gold.

Emily‘s makeup was courtesy of Linda Hay, who used plenty of Pat McGrath Labs products to achieve a girly, soft, blushed look.

Hints of rose and gold were applied on her lids and from what we can gather, Hay also intensified the model and entrepreneur’s eyes with glittery eyeshadows that blended together effortlessly. For a further touch of drama, she seemed to have applied individual false lashes here and there on the brunette’s upper lash line, which she then mixed with abundant coats of black mascara.

EmRata‘s hair was styled by Jennifer Yepez in a somewhat parted do with a fringe on the side, while the ends were left wavy, gently caressing her shoulders.

The podcaster’s long square-shaped nails were painted with a pink nail polish by manicurist Mei Kawajiri, a clever move to match them with the blush on her face.

Emily was styled by Emma Jade Morrison who always comes with a fresh take on eveningwear, a frequent collaborator of the model, she truly knows how to embrace her clients’ curves, be it in a more conservative way or a sultrier one.

The CFDA is the Council of Fashion Designers of America. It was founded in 1962 by publicist Eleanor Lambert and is a not-for-profit trade association of over 450 American fashion and accessory designers.

The organization promotes American designers in the global economy. In addition to hosting the annual CFDA Fashion Awards, the organization develops future American design talent through scholarships and resources in high schools, colleges, and post-graduate schools.

The CFDA also provides funding and business opportunities for working designers. Through the CFDA Foundation, the organization supports charitable causes.

The 2023 awards were once again in partnership with Amazon Fashion and took place on November 6 at New York City’s American Museum of Natural History on the Upper West Side.

Tory Burch was nominated in the category American Womenswear Designer of the Year together with Joseph Altuzarra for Altuzarra, Christopher John Rogers, Catherine Holstein for Khaite and Raul Lopez for LUAR.
