I’ve been willing to write an article about today’s outfit for quite some time, and since I wanted to shake things up a little bit, I took the risk on this fine Wednesday.
Let’s take a look at the courageous fashion choice Dwyane Wade made while attending last year’s GQ Men of the Year Awards.
Wade donned a Givenchy light pink feathery tank top with zip closure in the front, paired with white pants from the Spring 2024 Menswear collection, complete with black G.H. Bass Weejuns Heritage Larson leather loafers.
He also accessorized his look with a pair of diamond stud earrings, a Tiffany & Co. HardWear Graduated Link Necklace in white gold with pavé diamonds and a Tiffany & Co. 2-Hand Watch in white gold with a white guilloché dial, a black strap and a case set with round brilliant diamonds.
If you were wondering about his (then) new hair color, it was called “Bone Broth“, something Dwyane said in an interview for GQ Sports without mentioning the brand used. The person we should credit for this look was his friend and celebrity barber Donato Smith (who confirmed it to us personally)
Celebrity makeup artist, groomer and hairstylist Andrea Samuels made sure his skin was moisturized and ready for the cameras.
Even though there wasn’t any specific information about it available online, I am sure that his manicure was courtesy of Thuy Nguyen, because he always works with her and the nails he showed off on the red carpet reflected previous styles he had already played with; from what we gathered recently, the former basketball player also teased a possible entrance into the world of nail polish and cosmetics during a visit to CBS Mornings.
What I can certainly tell you is who was Dwyane‘s stylist, the incredible Jason Bolden.
With Bolden, after retiring, Wade found his way to express himself through clothing, following in the footsteps of his father and uncles, as he said eloquently in an interview for Highsnobiety:
“My father has always been a man who would take care of himself. My uncles took care of themselves. I always knew that’s what I wanted to do: I wanted to be one of them sharp-dressed men who smelled good, who stayed clean-shaved, and all that.” […]
“I’ve been getting my nails painted since 2007.”
Even when he does wear more conservative/less creative ensembles, the attention for detail is palpable and it doesn’t take away the fun and the will to discover from the equation.
