I must admit that I am fairly new to the Bollywood movie industry but I thought that a good further step may be writing about actress Deepika Padukone. Researching for this article has opened the doors to an even bigger variety of artists for me and it fills my heart with joy when such things happen.
That being said, let’s talk about the maximalist ensemble she wore to last year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Padukone looked otherworldly in a custom-made saffron orange look by Ashi Studio. The strapless taffeta gown fit the Indian superstar like a glove and featured a weightless draped detail around the shoulders.
She paired her gown with a pair of orange plexi slingback pointy pumps and Farah Khan emerald and chalcedony earrings for an added touch of opulence.
Her makeup was courtesy of Sandhya Shekar, who put emphasis on slightly elongating the inner corners of the actress’ eyes, keeping everything simple with a pair of natural looking false lashes. For those who may ask about her lipstick, it was the Wycon Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade #47 ‘Brick Club‘.
Deepika‘s hair was styled by Yianni Tsapatori in a low, wavy bun, that made sure the voluminous dress had the chance to properly shine without any constriction. It was obviously better not to complicate matters too much, so it was the perfect choice to go with such a dress. The simplicity and the freshness of her coif balanced everything out.
Tsapatori of course used Balmain Hair Couture products to achieve the look.
To conclude, the Indian beauty’s long oval-shaped white manicure was courtesy of nail artist Imarni Ashman.
Stylist Shaleena Nathani has a youthful approach to Deepika‘s styling and changes the narrative regarding what people may perceive as “coming from Bollywood”.
The actress’ association with brands such as Louis Vuitton confirms that she knows what she wants and that she is strong in her vision. Western countries tend to look a bit too much into their own world but I think they should expand their horizons and cultivate an interest towards what is outside.
Our world is so multifaceted that we cannot honestly say that we are bored, there is so much to discover, and so little time.
