Some weeks ago I fell in love with a dress, and as it often happens, it was a vintage dress. The gorgeous Crystal Reed wore it to the Los Angeles premiere of “Teen Wolf: The Movie” and I couldn’t be more excited to write about it.

For the red carpet, Reed donned a pale gold vintage John Anthony Fall 1980 silk dress with bare back and plunging neckline, supplied by Cherie Balch from Shrimpton Couture.

The famed vintage expert, who is always keen on giving her followers little tidbits about the incredible ensembles she sells and loans, noted that the dress “is a version of his famous wrap dress”, part of a capsule collection that the designer sent to Balch directly from his archives: it is more structured, longer and made out of gold silk charmeuse (a lightweight fabric woven with a satin weave, very easy to drape)–as you can also see below, the straps are larger and the dress widens out as it nears the hem.

Crystal paired her look with metallic gold Jimmy Choo Max 150 platform sandals, a pair of pear shaped earrings, what seemed to be a De Beers diamond Classic band ring on her right ring finger and three De Beers full pavé diamond band rings on her left index, middle and ring fingers.

In some shots she also carried a glittery clutch which was hard to identify.

Crystal Reed‘s makeup was courtesy of Jenna Kristina who went for luminous skin, lightly flushed cheeks and a lip color that totally matched the actress’ hair. Her eyes were intensified and slightly elongated toward the ends with the application of black fluttery false lashes.

Bridget Brager styled the redhead’s hair in a middle part, curling its ends into loose beach waves for the most natural effect. An overall body glow added to that feel.

Her hair color? You need to thank Jenna Perry for that.

Reed‘s nails were kept natural and polished; the dress was the absolute star of the show.

I loved this look for a variety of reasons: I’m a sucker for silk dresses that have a sort of liquid effect to them and look like a second skin on a body, then, the eco-conscious aspect of wearing something vintage and from an unexpected designer and lastly, a redhead not necessarily wearing something green (that I like too, not going to lie).

Her stylist Sarah Slutsky is very versatile when it comes to dressing younger women and young adults. She is colorful and joyful, you can clearly see it from the variety of clients she has. Her Instagram is full of rich textures, chic materials and fun patterns.

She is definitely worth a follow, and I suggest you to observe her styling of Ella Hunt, Jessica Renee Williams and Julia Schlaepfer–they are a treat for the eyes (and will definitely land on this website later on).
