While I was deciding what would be a better fit for today’s article, I thought about the flower ensemble Christina Ricci wore to last year’s CFDA Fashion Awards.
Don’t ask me how my mind works but when I’m struck by a wonderful outfit, I put it in the drawers of my mind, waiting to be taken out and to be written about someday.
For that night, Ricci donned a Rodarte mint lurex and floral jacquard bias dress with lace and hand molded floral details from the Spring 2023 Ready-to-Wear collection, paired with black Stuart Weitzman Nudist Disco leather sandals.

She complemented her ensemble with a pair of Briony Raymond Sloasie diamond earrings in what seemed to be rose gold, some diamond bracelets stacked together, a ring and a black Hunting Season elongated clutch in velvet.

MUA Francelle Daly matched Christina‘s makeup to the flowers on her dress, coating her lids with a metallic fuchsia eyeshadow and intensifying her gaze with a soft trait of black eye pencil and natural looking false lashes. The products used were courtesy of Daly‘s own makeup line Love+Craft+Beauty.
The hair was styled in a short wavy bob with a deep side part by her husband Mark Hampton, while her nails were painted in a natural milky hue by nail artist Kylie Kwok.
I was glad to find out that Christina Ricci is a big fashion fan and that her mother was a famous model in the ’60s, so she was exposed to the glitz and glamour from an early age (it can be both good and bad, but Ricci herself described it as a pleasant experience)–being present that night was undoubtedly important to her.
Since her comeback, she has been working with stylist Alexandra Mandelkorn and I think she has been able to translate Christina‘s love for fashion and clothes into something fun and modern. Many probably associate the actress with a darker aesthetic because of the roles she portrays, but in this way we are actually observing another side of her, more playful and colorful.
