We like to reminisce about past events and since we have not written about the subject of today’s article in a long time, we thought we should give it a go now.
The color palette of today’s outfit was an explosion of different hues, that’s what prompted us to analyze Chrissy Teigen‘s look for this year’s Vanity Fair Oscar Afterparty.
On the red carpet, Chrissy stunned in a Zuhair Murad multi beaded caftan gown with a beaded belt and feathered cuffs from the Spring-Summer 2023 Couture collection.
She complemented the ensemble with satin green Le Silla Lola sandals, Lorraine Schwartz Opal earrings, and a Judith Leiber Sleek Rectangle Emerald clutch with silver toned metal hardware.
The “Cravings” author’s makeup was very simple, rooted in the tones of the dress. Indeed we can observe that celebrity makeup artist Kristine Studden used gold glittery eyeshadows blended into more brown-ish tones, applied reddish blush on the cheeks and defined Chrissy‘s lips with a lip pencil darker than her own lip color–a touch of gloss to seal the deal and the look was done.
The model’s hair was styled in a classic wavy short bob by Irinel de León. The pro explained the real reason behind it in a statement for the haircare brand Briogeo:
“We wanted to go for a voluminous blowout. Something simple that flows with the dress since it encompasses so much detail. We wanted body, volume, and classic hair.”
Here is the whole lowdown and tutorial thanks to the brand and Irinel:
– Briogeo – Color Me Brilliant™ Shampoo + Conditioner;
Hair prep and style using Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Volume Spray on wet hair;
– Follow with Briogeo Farewell Frizz Blow Dry Crème from roots to ends;
– Finish with Briogeo Farewell Frizz Oil on the ends for a bit of a piecey texture.
The red hue of her hair was courtesy of colorist Matt Rez and his salon team.
Tan artist Isabel Alysa made dure that Chrissy‘s body glowed using the Dolce Glow ‘9.5 Senza Sole‘ Professional Solution.
Teigen worked with stylist Alana Van Deraa, who previously was an assistant to the model’s former stylist Monica Rose. What we can gather from her work is that she has a very playful and imaginative approach when it comes to styling and the explosion of different colors she pairs together goes incredibly well with Chrissy‘s fire and unapologetic personality.
It truly looks like playing dress-up with a friend and sometimes it is just what we need when we look at all the atrocities that are going on around us. Just a bit of relief every once in a while.
