I’ve never jumped on an outfit or an event that quickly, because I usually give myself some time before I write about something that has caught my eye (mainly because I research what I need for an article, to make it as exhaustive as I can), but this time I couldn’t resist.

These days were full of events and I was particularly eager to see what the Academy Museum Gala had to offer this year and I can confidently say that I wasn’t disappointed.

So let’s start with actress Chloë Grace Moretz who has been absent from this website for a long time, and sometimes just because time goes by and you don’t even notice.

For the Gala, Moretz donned a custom Louis Vuitton sky blue halter shoulderless dress with a little train and a big belt cinching her waist. The ensemble was quite reminiscent of the Spring 2023 Ready-to-Wear collection.

She accessorized her dress with opulent Louis Vuitton earrings and a gold Louis Vuitton Glasses Case bag, which was part of the Fall-Winter 2018 collection (same model as pictured below, not the same pattern or color).

The “The Peripheral” actress’ makeup was courtesy of Emily Cheng, who opted for peachy tones to “sculpt” her face and to paint her lips. We can also see a hint of the same tone on her eyes, to tie everything together. The brows were slightly filled in and darkened for the most natural effect.

Her hair was styled by Renato Campora in a short, sleek bob with side part.

Structured hairstyles go incredibly well with Louis Vuitton clothes because of their stern and austere nature, and I truly appreciate when the two mix together. I am all for people who don’t let dresses wear them, something that can happen with a brand as powerful as LV. In this particular instance, Chloë reaffirms her power and looks confident at the cameras around her.

Ultimately, when it came to her nails, she showed off a short sheer pink manicure, courtesy of Shigeko Taylor, who used Bio Sculpture products to achieve the desired result.

The blonde beauty was styled by Nell Kalonji, Chloë‘s longtime friend and collaborator.

As I always say, Vuitton is a particular brand to wear and Kalonji is known for her unexpected styling. The fact that she always makes Chloë look effortlessly tomboyish but at the same time feminine has always fascinated me. It’s a kind of beauty difficult to decipher but incredibly attractive and interesting.

Thank you Nell for always proving that we can be many things all at once and thank you Chloë for always being true to yourself.
