Celia Burton is a London based makeup artist.

Her makeup career started when she didn’t get a place on a foundation course at Central Saint Martins, so she started right away, studying for 5 days on Louise Constad‘s Beauty Queen course.

Her aunt was Punk makeup artist Lynne Easton (one of her clients was Boy George). She sadly passed away in 2006 when Celia was 16. It was at her funeral, surrounded by her aunt’s friends and contemporaries, that she first spoke of her own dream of becoming a makeup artist. A close friend of her aunt’s, ran a makeup course in London, and it was there that she first applied a face of makeup.

Burton inherited all brushes and boxes after her aunt’s death, so it was then that she thought about getting into makeup professionally.

Her first internship was for the the makeup artist Georgina Graham during London Fashion Week in 2009, an occasion through which Burton had the opportunity to do tests, fittings, shows and attend parties.

Her approach is gentle but yet bold and her less-is-more no-makeup-makeup looks are truly unique.

She has worked with notable photographers such as: Alex Gordienko, Alice Neale, Chris Rhodes, Eloise Parry, Felix Cooper, Hanna Moon, Hill and Aubrey, Jesse John Jenkins, Juergen Teller, Laura Coulson, Nadine Ijewere, Nick Knight, Oliver Hadlee Pearch, Pascal Gambarte, Paul Wetherell, Thurstan Redding, Tim Walker, Tom Craig and Tyrone Lebon.

And with stylists such as: Amanda Harlech, Agata Belcen, Aurelia Donaldson, Anders Sølvsten Thomsen, Anna Trevelyan, Cathy Kasterine, Charlotte Roberts, Chloe Grace Press, Celestine Cooney, Eliza Conlan, Gary Armstrong, Hanna Khalifa, Panos Yiapanis, Poppy Kain, Nell Kalonji, Nicolas Kantor, Tamara Rothstein, Victoria Young and Victoire Simonney.
