Today I’d love to revisit a past event that has been on my to-do list for quite some time: multifaceted and incredibly gorgeous actress and model Camila Morrone walking the red carpet of last year’s MET Gala.

For the occasion, Morrone donned a Chanel white organza pleated off-the-shoulder blouse with a navy and black feathered skirt from the Fall 2021 Haute Couture collection.

According to the brand, “1210 hours and around 80000 embroidered elements were required in the making of the look” and the the actress apparently had her sights on it for a long time.

The gorgeous brunette accessorized the ensemble with dark blue and white satin Chanel ankle pumps, a pair of Chanel Motif Russe earrings in 18K white gold and diamonds and a Chanel Blés Infini ring in 18K white gold and diamonds on her left index finger.

Camila, in an interview for L’Officiel USA, explained how the gown related to the theme of the Gala, without being too literal: “The feathers do something quite airy and dreamlike and ethereal. Going very soft with the hair and makeup is a beautiful flow to the skirt when it moves and it takes up light in really beautiful ways.”

The nature of the dress also determined the way she had her makeup done: “We wanted to go with something French, something youthful and fresh, something a bit ethereal, a lot of blush. I did a bit of a winged eye. Then I kept my hair down and a bit more polished because the outfit is really the highlight here.”

This philosophy was reflected in the work of Mary Phillips, who opted for a makeup consisting in soft brushed-up brows, abundant sun kissed blush, nude lips and well defined mascara; all the products she used were courtesy of Nars Cosmetics (see the list below).

When it came to her hair, the lovely brunette had her hair styled by Renato Campora in long, simple, middle-parted luscious waves caressing her bare shoulders.

Luckily, in an article from Estetica Magazine, I was able to find some details regarding the hairdo, indeed here is a little tutorial for you:

“1. To start, Renato applied the KERASILK Activating Scalp Foundation to the scalp to stimulate and hydrate it.
2. Then, he washed and conditioned the hair using the KERASILK Smoothing Shampoo and KERASILK Smoothing Conditioner to nourish, smooth and tame hair from root to ends.
3. Following the wash, Renato massaged the KERASILK Smoothing Mask into the hair and let it sit for five minutes.
4. Once the hair was prepped, Renato wanted to maintain the health of the scalp and applied the KERASILK Redensifying Scalp Serum as it allows for a thicker and denser root.
5. Next, on towel dried hair he sprayed the KERASILK Liquid Cuticle Filler to give the hair shine that will last all night. Renato sectioned out the hair and applied the KERASILK Volumizing Foam to the roots and a mist of the KERASILK Volumizing Spray to achieve extra bounce.
6. Each section was then blow dried with a round brush, curled with a big barrel iron and gently pinned to cool off. This allows for the bend to look natural and soft.
7. Once the hair was set, Renato began brushing the hair starting from the nape and added the KERASILK Texturizing Spray for some effortless and a tiny bit of KERASILK Finishing Cream on the ends.”
