I am a fervent admirer of Billie Eilish and her style, and I see our lives as parallels in many ways, be it in terms of fashion sense or personality-wise.
As it is customary for me during these weeks preceding the Vanity Fair Oscar Afterparty, I go down memory lane to revisit outfits from past editions because it’s one of my favorite events of the year after the MET Gala (in a hypothetical invisible hierarchy).
Last year, Billie was seen attending the event in a Vaquera pinstripe suit from the Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear collection, styled with a white striped blouse underneath, a pair of cream and black Chanel Mary Jane shoes, a black and white tweed Chanel mini flap bag with gold accents, plus a pair of Chrome Hearts Skidder eyeglasses

She complemented her outfit with a Chrome Hearts Tiny Cross Hoop earring on her right ear, a Chrome Hearts Cross Dangle earring on her other ear, a Chrome Hearts Champion ring on her right ring finger, a Chrome Hearts Double Pyramid ring on her right index finger, what seemed to be a a Chrome Hearts Plus Pyramid open band ring on her left index finger and a Chrome Hearts Keeper ring on her left middle finger (I apologize for the quality of the pictures but these items are not necessarily easy to find if you know how the brand operates, and I know because I happen to love it).

When it came to makeup, the entertainer relied on the expertise of Emily Cheng, a professional who truly knows how to make skin look and feel like skin, not heavy and not overly sculpted.
There was an emphasis on the eyes, one of Billie‘s greatest assets: the lashes were combed to perfection with precise coats of mascara, as well as the eyes, refined with the thinnest trait of eyeliner, barely elongated on the edges to achieve the most beautiful siren look.
Juicy, slightly overlined lips sealed the deal.
Eilish‘s hair was styled by Benjamin Mohapi in a middle parted, long do. A hairstyle that has been her trademark lately (at the moment of writing she seemed to have it chopped a bit, probably for a little refresh ahead of the Australian leg of her world tour in two weeks).
Although her manicures look pretty natural lately, she works with nail artist Erin Leigh Moffett.
The pro makes sure to keep Billie‘s cuticles and nails in check, because nail care is just as important, especially when you are someone who lifts awards left and right and your hands get photographed several times because of it; the devil is truly in the details.
For the occasion, Baird O’Connell (her real surname) was styled briefly by Andrew Mukamal (she’s not lately) and if there is something that he can do is bringing his intriguing dark edge to the red carpet, for fits that are more mature and thought out, in line with the different chapters of life each one of his clients is going through (a turn that is incredibly visible in his work with Lily Collins).
I personally loved the choice of Vaquera, because their offering of oversized garments is perfectly in line with Billie‘s taste and because their uncommon subcultural nature align with Eilish‘s quirkiness and will not to conform in her own personal way.
