In our quest to find undiscovered brands, we came across this particular example of masterful craftsmanship and savoir-faire from a Jakartan designer.
The lucky girl who got to wear it was actress Ariana Greenblatt, a lovely human being that you may have already seen in movies or series such as “Awake” or “Ahsoka“.
In this case she was attending the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie “Barbie“.
Greenblatt looked amazing in a Yogie Pratama champagne corseted dress with black rose decoration at its base and see-through embroidered train from the ‘Minuit‘ 2023-2024 collection.
The ensemble was complemented with black Tom Ford velvet Disco 140mm platform sandals and plenty of Chopard jewels (details are according to a press release by Berger): a necklace from the Green Carpet collection featuring 42.94-carats of diamonds set in Fairmined-certified white gold, earrings featuring 4.6-carats of diamonds, a ring featuring 1.55-carats of diamonds, a ring featuring 1.3-carats of diamonds and a ring featuring 1.55-carats of diamonds, all set in 18-karat white gold from the L’Heure du Diamant collection, and a diamond ring in 18-karat white gold from the My Happy Hearts collection.
Makeup artist Jen Tioseco kept her look very minimal, opting for a fine trait of black eyeliner. The pro played with shimmers, indeed Ariana‘s lids almost looked as if they were wet. Their sparkle–thanks to a very sunny day–was visible from afar.
All products used were courtesy of Beauty Blender; you can get the full breakdown below thanks to Tioseco herself:
“- BOOST Firming & Smoothing Peptide Primer;
– BOUNCE Always On Radiant Skin Tint in ‘Medium 2‘;
– BOUNCE Magic Fit Creamy Bronzer & Highlight Duo in ‘Champagne / Topaz‘;
– BOUNCE Liquid Whip Cream Blush in ‘Flirty Rose‘;
– Blend using my favorite Beauty Blender sponge;
– Finish off with BOOST 4-in-1 Firming Peptide Setting Spray.”
The actress’ hair looked shiny and healthy in a long wavy do styled by Kiley Fitzgerald. The waves caressed her shoulders and back, for the ultimate mermaid look.
When it came to her manicure, pink and Barbie of course were the inspirations behind the nail look. According to pro nail artist Zola Ganzorigt, they went for “a playful and feminine look” so they “chose the sparkly pink for the base and added the pearl bow and rhinestones for extra sparkle”.
Here is how to get the look, all details are courtesy of Ganzorigt:
“- Apply a coat of OPI Natural Nail Base Coat;
– Next, apply two coats of OPI Nail Lacquer in ‘Best Day Ever‘;
– Apply the OPI Top Coat;
– Finish the look by gluing the bow and rhinestones to the nails of the ring fingers.”
Ariana was styled by Raziel Martinez, who I commend for betting on an emerging designer to wear for such an important occasion. The usual choice would be to go for big names that could eventually secure a decent amount of press coverage, but he probably was so sure that she would look good that he was willing to take the risk. And boy, did he deliver.
My interest was piqued and I’m now happy to know a new designer. That’s what I hope to achieve every day.
Barbie is a 2023 American fantasy comedy film directed by Greta Gerwig from a screenplay she wrote with Noah Baumbach.
Based on the Barbie fashion dolls by Mattel, it is the first live-action Barbie film after over 40 computer-animated direct-to-video and streaming television films.
Ariana Greenblatt stars as Sasha, Gloria‘s daughter, who is a Mattel employee who helps Barbie in the real world.
