The gorgeous Amandla Stenberg walked the red carpet of the London premiere of “The Acolyte” last week and I couldn’t stop staring at the way her dress wrapped her body.
I was determined to find out who made that ensemble and I am here to tell you all the details.
Stenberg donned a burnt orange Oude Waag halter draped dress from the Shangai Spring 2024 collection, paired with bronze Jimmy Choo Ixia 95 heeled sandals (same model as pictured below, not the same shade).
A fun fact about this look is that it seems that her hair accessories were actually a pair of Misho ‘The Winter Flower‘ earrings handcrafted in 22k gold plated bronze–another gold piece secured her braid.
Her makeup was focused on the eyes and the skin: celebrity MUA Mata Mariélle applied a gold eyeshadow on her lids and diffused it into a soft smokey eye. She elongated her inner corners with a precise trait of black eyeliner pencil while the lips were left juicy and shiny thanks to a swipe of dark pink gloss.
For skin prep, Marièlle mentioned using products by Clarins and Dr. Barbara Sturm, for the makeup she used ones by Too Faced, Hourglass and Merit. I truly wish there was a breakdown to refer to.
The hair was styled in a long braided ponytail by Jordan Jay Brumant, keeping the natural texture of her hair visible.
She also sported a silver chrome oval-shaped manicure, courtesy of Zola Ganzorigt. Amandla showed it off for the Los Angeles premiere too, a few days prior.
I’ve always found the American actress’ styling choices interesting, and this time was no less than the others. I loved the choice of an earthy color to mirror the settings of Star Wars we are used to and also the fact that she opted for a brand with an aesthetic characterized by an intellectual and empathetic approach to the relationship between mind, clothing and body.
The fluid draping was the catalyst of my attention, the dress fit her like a glove.
We have stylist Chris Horan to thank for it: his approach is fresh, magnetic and purposeful–you should also check his work with Charli XCX and Hari Nef. He is slowly redefining what it means to look cool on a red carpet.
