Amanda Seyfried is coming back with a new project, namely the miniseries “The Dropout” on Hulu. Let’s see what she wore to its premiere held at the DGA Theater Complex on February 24, 2022 in Los Angeles, California.

Seyfried donned an Oscar de la Renta blue velvet cocktail dress with off-the-shoulder puff sleeves from the Fall 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection, paired with Jimmy Choo or Le Silla mirror pumps (they are pretty much interchangeable but her stylist mentioned they were from JC while LS‘ PR company said they were theirs).

Her playful outfit was accessorized with Ananya Fine Jewelry Scatter rings in yellow gold and white gold stacked together and Ananya Fine Jewelry Scatter earrings in white gold (visible in the little blue box present in the picture above).

The character who Amanda portrays in the series had a different style in her every day life, indeed Elizabeth Holmes favored a Steve Jobs-like wardrobe of black turtlenecks, black jackets, black low-heel shoes, and it was completely intentional. Holmes told Glamour in 2015 that it made it easier for her so she did not have to think about it, letting her focus on the work.

For the event, her stylist Elizabeth Stewart went with Amanda‘s usual red carpet style instead, as she revealed to “This mini felt very Amanda to me—very fun and fresh but with a couture vibe—and the fact that Genevieve was inspired by the color cinched the deal”.

Even though the eye makeup was pretty simple and inspired by the dress, MUA Genevieve Herr shared some little details regarding the products she used on Amanda with Vogue US and on her Instagram (edited and condensed for clarity):

Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl Eyeliner Pencil in ‘Black Lapis‘ along the upper lash line;
– the darkest shade of LancômeHypnôse Eyeshadow Palette 5 Couleurs in ‘Bleu Hypnotique‘;
– generous swipes of Lancôme Définicils mascara;
Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Hydrating Cream Lipstick in ‘Coquette‘.

Her hairstylist Robert Vetica went for a mod ’60s vibe; the collaborative effort of her glam team was a total success. We loved the result.

The Dropout, based on the eponymous ABC Audio podcast, is about the rise and fall of Elizabeth Holmes and her company, Theranos, played by Amanda Seyfried.

The company claimed that it invented a technology through which blood tests could be performed rapidly thanks to small automated devices the company had developed. Claims which were later discovered to be false.

Holmes faces now up to 20 years in federal prison, plus potentially millions in restitution and fines.
