Today I’d love to write about one of my favorite looks from this year’s Cannes Film Festival, the one Alton Mason delighted us with, while walking the “Megalopolis” red carpet during the famed French kermesse.
Mason donned a silver and black Louis Gabriel Nouchi suit from the Fall 2024 Menswear collection, paired with multicolored croc pointy boots.
A further touch of class was his Messika So Move 3 Rows gold diamond necklace, diamond stud earrings and an Audemars Piguet 41mm Datejust Royal Oak diamond watch.
Alton‘s makeup was courtesy of beauty expert and entrepreneur Loni Baur, who made sure the Black model’s skin was in check, carefully applying glow products on his cheekbones, neck and chest.
If you look at him carefully, you’ll may also notice a hint of a soft blown smokey eye, which was intensified with a trait of black eyeliner pencil on his lower lash line.
His hair was styled in dreadlocks by Starsha Appling, a Black professional who has already worked on him during this year’s MET Gala.
To conclude, Alton Mason walking the “Megalopolis” red carpet during the Cannes Film Festival was definitely a blessing, because not only he does bring his A game to the event, but he also shapes the conversation around what menswear can truly be with a little bit of effort.
We weren’t able to find out if he worked in tandem with a stylist but we can assume that he collaborated with Louis Gabriel Nouchi himself–something he has already done in the past with other creative directors.

Megalopolis is a 2024 American epic science fiction drama film written, directed, and produced by Francis Ford Coppola.
The movie was selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where it premiered on May 16, 2024.
The film is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States by Lionsgate Films on September 27, 2024.
