Today I was in the mood for a dreamy escape seen current events, so I decided to write about Addison Rae attending last year’s Academy Museum Gala.

I remembered her dress and how much I loved it, hence why I’ll share with you what I mean when I say that fashion is a driving force in my life.

For the event, the internet personality turned singer donned a celeste vintage Alberta Ferretti lace gown with a plunging neckline from the Spring-Summer 2013 collection, paired with silver Manolo Blahnik ankle sandals.

Just a pair of simple pearl earrings sealed the deal.

Rae was made up by Nina Park, who opted for her signature no makeup makeup look entirely focused on the skin using products that delivered hydration and luminosity.

The only color we see is thanks to Addison‘s flushed cheeks and juicy lips; everything was courtesy of Chanel Beauty.

Her hair was styled by Bryce Scarlett in soft, side parted waves, pretty much reminiscent of Veronica Lake‘s famous hairdo–her blond was courtesy of Matt Rez.

Of course this would not be a complete article without mentioning the indefatigable work of Natalie Minerva who created a short pearly manicure for the entertainer, using OPI‘s ‘Kyoto Pearl‘ shimmery white nail polish.

Rae was styled by Dara Allen, who, with her incredible knowledge of archives, was able to keep the singer’s dress modern and fresh and most of all, part of the conversation.

It hugged all the curves in the right places, a pleasure for the eyes and a distraction from what’s around us.

The Academy Museum Gala is an event dedicated to celebrating the art and history of film.

This year they honored Paul Mescal, Rita Moreno and Quentin Tarantino on October 19, 2024.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the gala raised more than $11 million to support the exhibitions, education initiatives and public programming at the L.A. museum, which opened in 2021.
