Teiji Utsumi is a professional hairstylist.
Utsumi was born and raised in the historic city of Nara famed for Japan’s finest temples and historic treasures.
While in London College of Fashion, he discovered his passion and flair for hairstyling. After working on the international fashion week circuit with James Pecis for several years, Teiji quickly made a strong impact within the fashion industry with his inventiveness and vitality.
Captivated with London’s creativity and street culture, Teiji has worked with photographers including Solve Sundso, Harley Weir, Sean and Seng and Brett Lloyd.
His clients include Burberry, Mulberry, Maison Margiela, Issey Miyake, Paul Smith and Hugo Boss.
His work can be seen in publications such as Vogue U.S, Vogue Russia, Dazed and Confused, i-D, Document Journal, Luncheon, Purple, Reedition and Replica.
