Sometimes I truly need distractions because reality weighs heavy on my shoulders, so I look at things that visually make me feel better, if that’s even the right way to describe it.
I think I am able to find beauty in pretty much anything, that’s why today I decided to write about Kaia Gerber strutting on the red carpet of last year’s LACMA Art + Film Gala without hesitation.
For the event, Gerber donned a custom Gucci pistacchio gown, probably inspired by the designs of the Gucci Notte collection, which was a special collection of 12 elevated dresses and four suits made out of shimmering fabrics, beading, lace and feather details.

She complemented her ensemble with what seemed to be a pair of RW Fine Lab Grown Three Prong Martini Diamond Stud Earrings, a yellow diamond ring on her left middle finger and a silver pair of Gucci Bamboo open toe sandals barely visible under the feathered hem of her dress.
The brunette model was made up by Nina Park, who painted her eyelids with a light green, glitzy eyeshadow that matched her dress, elongated her eyes with a thin trait of black eyeliner and gave volume to her already long lashes using generous coats of black mascara mixed with little chunks of individuals.
Bryce Scarlett styled her hair in soft, luscious, side-parted waves, while manicurist Thuy Nguyen painted her oval-shaped nails with a very nude nail polish that practically matched her skin tone, for the chicest effect.
She probably collaborated with Gucci‘s former creative director Sabato De Sarno for this look, but I am not sure, hence why I won’t state it as a fact.
What I can say is that online there was no information related to a stylist involved in the process, which is not unusual for models who already have solid friendships/working relationships with designers.
The gown was undoubtedly heavenly on her, because it framed her petite curves in ways that made it feel elevated and timeless. Paired with that Veronica Lake inspired hairdo, I’m sure no one could resist her fine beauty.

According to the event’s official statement: “On Saturday November 2, 2024, notables from the art, film, fashion, and entertainment industries gathered at LACMA for its thirteenth annual Art+Film Gala honoring artist Simone Leigh, along with visionary auteur Baz Luhrmann.
LACMA trustee Eva Chow and actor Leonardo DiCaprio will co-chair the event for the thirteenth consecutive year.”

“Proceeds from the annual Art+Film Gala go toward underwriting LACMA’s initiative to make film more central to the museum’s curatorial programming, while also funding LACMA’s broader mission. This includes exhibitions, acquisitions, and educational programming, in addition to screenings that explore the intersection of art and film.
The Art+Film Gala was once again made possible by Gucci‘s longstanding and generous support.
@elle.aus We’re officially crowning Kaia Gerber queen of the #LACMA red carpet. The model dazzled in a custom pistachio @Gucci gown, and this may just be one of our favourite looks of 2024. #kaiagerber #redcarpet #gucck ♬ heatwaves x diet pepsi by addison rae – addison fan account
