Shiona Turini is a consultant, stylist, and costume designer.
In her decade-long career, Shiona has solidified herself as one of the industry’s leading experts, both behind and in front of the camera, and has been commended for her work and personal style.
After years in fashion editorial, Shiona launched a freelance career focusing on editorial and commercial styling, music videos and red carpet.
She collaborated with Solange Knowles on her stunning visual projects, βDonβt Touch My Hairβ and βCranes in the Skyβ and also served as a stylist on BeyoncΓ©βs βFormationβ music video. Alongside, she served as a contributing editor for New York Magazine’s The Cut while also consulting and styling for brands such as Bermuda Tourism Authority, Stuart Weitzman, Christian Dior and Elle.com.
Shiona now works with brands, personalities, and publishers alike to create dynamic content for the media landscape, and in film, television, and music on generational defining creative.
Her clients are the who’s who of beauty, fashion, entertainment, and travel, including Christian Dior, Elle, HBO, Oscar de la Renta, Nike, Stuart Weitzman, and the New York Times.
As a costume designer, Shiona wardrobed seasons 3 of HBO’s popular ‘Insecure’βcreated by Issa Rae (her work can be seen in episodes 1 and 3-8), the pilot for FXβs βYβ based on the graphic novel βY The Last Man,β and most recently βInsecureβ Season 4.
Costume designing her first feature film, Universal Pictures βQueen & Slim,β earned Shiona a Costume Designers Guild Award nomination in the Contemporary Costumes category. She is an active member of both New York’s United Scenic Artists (Local 829) and Los Angeles’ Costume Designer’s Guild (Local 892).
Shiona has also collaborated with brands including La Mer, Tods, American Express, Calvin Klein, Kate Spade New York, MAC Cosmetics, Matchesfashion.com, and Tiffany & co.
Shionaβs most recent full-time editorial position was as Fashion Director of Cosmopolitan, the largest womenβs publication in the world, as part of a repositioning of the title.
Shiona previously worked with top stylist and former Vogue ParisΒ editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld to launch the eponymously titledΒ CR Fashion Book, as well as in senior roles atΒ Teen VogueΒ andΒ W Magazine. Β
