Saoirse Ronan wore a partly sustainable Gucci gown for her Oscars 2020 appearance. You can see that the V-neck bodice was crafted from the black satin left over from her BAFTAs gown. I really appreciate it, because it gives me a sense of continuity between her works.
“It was a meeting of minds between Ronan, Saltzman and Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele, who has designed some of the star’s standout looks over the years, and who Ronan respects for his conscious fashion policies, as well as his penchant for eccentric embellishment.”

While she was talking to Vanity Fair, she explained her choice for the makeup: “Saoirse is a timeless beauty and today her look was inspired by her grace and sublime elegance.”

“As well as the cut of the fringe, Abergel adorned Ronan’s low-sitting bun with another detail: a Gucci bumblebee barrette, which hovered above her ear, and paid tribute to the role for which she was nominated: Little Women’s free-spirited Jo March.”
