John David Washington at Golden Globe Awards 2019
John David Washington was a delightful surprise on the red carpet of the 2019 Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
As you may know, he is Denzel Washington‘s son and probably very well equipped to follow in his father’s footsteps.
He attended because of his nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for the movie BlacKkKlansman.
For the occasion, Washington wore a custom Dior Homme light grey wool suit, paired with a bespoke black Anto Shirt in fine twill, everything accessorized with a David Yurman Chatelaine stud earring with black onyx and diamonds.
BlacKkKlansman is a 2018 American biographical black comedy crime drama film directed by Spike Lee based on the 2014 memoir Black Klansman by Ron Stallworth.
Set in the 1970s in Colorado Springs, the plot follows the first African-American detective in the city’s police department as he sets out to infiltrate and expose the local Ku Klux Klan chapter.
In the movie, John David Washington plays the role of Stallworth, a retired American police officer who infiltrated the ranks of the KKK in Colorado Springs after noticing a classified ad in the local paper seeking members to start a new chapter of the Klan in the city.
