Vicente Montoya


Vicente Montoya is a Mexican born makeup artist.

In Mexico he studied photography and artistic drawing and from a young age he worked as a photography assistant, during which time he discovered his passion for makeup.

His training in photography, gives his particular style a tenacious and unmistakable imprint.

His professional career is characterized by his disturbing aesthetics, with a very careful styling: it shows the most daring and seductive side of women. His main interest is to involve his particular universe, an audience eager for new proposals. Revered and respected by professionals, his art leaves no one indifferent.

In 2005 he began his career as a professional makeup artist. By that time he was already being required by actresses and celebrities. Since 2006 he has been called by the Latin Grammys to do the makeup for the celebrities who hosted the awards. In 2007 he was called by The Grammy Awards.

From there he was called for international award ceremonies such as the Billboard Music Awards. In 2008 he moved to the United States. He worked in Las Vegas for the most important musical shows, at the same time, he was taking advanced training courses in order to learn professional techniques for HD television.

He moved to New York where he worked for one of the most prestigious makeup artist agencies, doing various jobs in the advertising film industry. In 2009 he returned to Mexico at the request of the Avon Cosmetics firm, which named him as their makeup artist. He was in charge of all the commercials and graphics, as well as giving professional makeup courses.

He is currently working in Mexico City and is the official makeup artist for the “Maybelline New York” brand for Mexico and Latin America; he also works with a team creating the looks for New York Fashion Week as well as creating trends for international collections.

He is considered one of the best makeup artists in his country for his perfection in skin treatment and is always required by companies around the world to work on advertising film projects, commercial graphics as well as editorials for the most prestigious magazines in fashion.
