Sir John

Sir John Barnett is a makeup and color artist who reveals and transforms, inspired by the essence of his clients’ natural beauty.

A consummate visionary, Sir John uses the power of cosmetics to exalt women to their highest impact. While working with Pat Mcgrath and Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup teams during Fashion Weeks in New York, Milan and Paris, he quickly built his reputation for creative use of color. Sir John has had the privilege to work with some of the most sought-after fashion and beauty industry professionals from Mario Testino to Steven Meisel to Naomi Campbell. In fact, it was at Tom Ford’s first womenswear show in 2010 where he was introduced to Beyoncé, and granted the opportunity to work with her. Shortly after, Sir John began working with Queen Bey on everything from album art to music videos, concert tours, superbowls and a history-making September Vogue cover in 2018.

Building on his eye for color and commitment to the natural beauty and ever-changing needs of women, Sir John has cultivated a strong focus on inclusivity, visual representation, durability and longevity in products. His passion for authenticity in beauty and fashion has led Sir John to work as an ambassador and consulting celebrity makeup artist for L’Oréal Paris, as well as in partnerships with numerous other brands including Glossier, MAC, Yves Saint Laurent, and Estée Lauder. His work has appeared on the covers of Glamour, Elle, Vanity Fair, Vogue, InStyle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Marie Claire.

This young artist has achieved global recognition from the masses and industry insiders alike. Sir John’s magnetic presence shines through all aspects of his professional journey, that’s why he’s celebrated by luminaries like Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, Chrissy Teigen, Kim Kardashian West and Priyanka Chopra. His personal vibrancy has also come to television in his roles as Co-Executive Producer and celebrity mentor on Lifetime’s American Beauty Star.
