Ryan Cotton, born and raised in the Midwest, moved to New York City in 2002.
He has spent those twelve years building an extremely diverse and loyal clientele in and out of the salon.
He splits his time between Serge Normant salon and keeping a busy schedule styling for editorial/commercial photo shoots.
Ryan gathers his inspiration from the many trend setters that visit him regularly in the salon as well as from collaborations with top photographers Annie Leibovitz, Joshua Jordan and Albert Watson in the ever-changing world of fashion.
His attention to detail and work ethic have made him a much sought after hairstylist in all regards, having hairstyled for Emma Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Gina Gershon, Jane Krakowski, Julianne Moore, and Kristin Wiig just to name a few.
Ryan regularly works with renowned magazines such as Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Town & Country, Martha Stewart and Out.
His advertising campaigns include L’Anza, Rag & Bone and Palisade.
He has worked on the teams for the following New York Fashion Week runway shows: Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Rag & Bone, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Behnaz Sarafour and Ralph Lauren.
Ryan is currently based in New York.
After spending 15 years in the big apple, he decided to use his years of experience and knowledge of the craft to create an environment like nothing anyone has seen before. Building from the ground up a salon/apothecary in the West Village of Detroit, where anyone is welcome to enjoy the best of what the industry has to offer–it’s called Village Parlor.
