Rachel Lee Wright

Rachel Lee Wright was born in California and raised on the island of Maui.

Craving city life she became a DJ for many years producing music and promoting parties in NY, LA and abroad and her interest in fashion, performance and subculture lead her to wardrobe styling and eventually hair.

In the late 90’s, Rachel formed an all-female hip hop collective to create a space for skill sharing for women in music, specifically women of color.

She attended the Aveda Institute and left right after school to work on runway shows in New York Paris and Milan.

She worked under the most influential hair stylists of our time for 10 years, including Guido Palau, Odile Gilbert, James Pecis, Duffy, Didier Malige and Anthony Turner.

She still attends Fashion Weeks worldwide, staying connected to her roots by working between her own clients and shows backstage.

She comes to hairstyling with a deep appreciation for punk, drag and subversive aesthetics while keeping the richness of high fashion never far behind. Rachel believes all hair types should be celebrated and loved and has made it her passion to educate herself and her team about all hair textures and types.
