Paloma Elsesser‘s outfit for the CFDA Fashion Awards 2021 has been on my radar for quite some time. New York Fashion Week has now passed, but some of its standout designers–like Peter Do–left their mark and are hopefully on the path to become the big ones of tomorrow.

Here laid my will to delve deep into the designer’s collections and write about the exquisite look Paloma pulled off just one year ago.

Paloma wore indeed a Peter Do khaki ensemble, slightly altered from the design presented in the Fall-Winter 2021 collection.

Elsesser accessorized her look with a Candy Ice Cushion Bauble ring, a Yvan Tufenkjian emerald and diamond pendant necklace and rings, plus Jacob & Co. stud earrings.

She completed her attire with a pair of Brother Vellies Audre sandals in Espresso embossed leather and a Brother Vellies Lijadu croc-embossed leather bag.

Paloma has a style of her own which I deeply admire. I’ve been following her career closely and not only she is paving the way for models like her who never felt were accepted or wanted by the fashion system, but she is also teaching everyone that she isn’t worth anything less than her peers.

We need more people like her, that’s for sure. No wonder why Pat McGrath literally scouted her and wanted to work with her, she is such a gem and her face has something so special about it.

We already know which one of her outfits we’ll write about next, keep reading us and you won’t regret it.

During the celebration, Paloma Elsesser took to the stage to present Demna Gvasalia with his award for International Women’s Designer of the Year (for his role at Balenciaga) and Grace Wales Bonner (for her role at Wales Bonner – and who was sadly not present) with her award for International Men’s Designer of the Year (accepted by Jeremy O. Harris in her stead).
