I’ve been keeping aside Kendall Jenner‘s MET Gala 2019 look for some time because I already knew it was going to require me a lot of research and work and being the perfectionist that I am, I made sure to check every information before writing an article about it. Now it’s here, you can take notes.

For the Gala, Kendall donned a fire-orange custom Atelier Versace gown, inspired by a heritage plastic Versace dress, featuring delicate crystals and extravagant feathers, all meticulously applied to the tulle base by hand at the Versace atelier. According to the fashion house, the gowns she and her sister Kylie wore to the event took almost two months to complete.

The dress was crafted from a sheer tulle base enriched with chevron-pattern crystal embroidery. The magnificent gown was paired with a matching feather trim, delicately crafted by hand and orange crustal embellished sandals.

Jenner accessorized the look with a Judith Leiber Couture Boom Box Crystal Clutch bag and a variety of Tiffany & Co. jewels, according to Elle Singapore: the three-tiered earrings were a mix of six pink and yellow imperial topaz and colored diamonds—each stone individually secured in a four-pronged 18k yellow gold setting. Between each stone there were yellow gold hinges—which allowed the earrings to sway.

The pièce de résistance was a 2019 Blue Book Collection necklace featuring 19 topaz totaling over 75 carats and over 40 white diamonds that the model loved immediately as she told W Magazine: “The minute I saw this necklace, I knew I had to find some way to incorporate it into tonight’s look. I’ve been working with Tiffany & Co. for a while now and knew right away that I wanted something truly unique for Met.”

“The ring was a massive eight-carat orange sapphire set on a four-pronged platinum ring. A halo of diamonds crowns the sapphire—and runs down the ring, round the finger.”

The Blue Book collection is an annual collection whose pieces go on tour around the globe upon launch, clients are invited to view them and try them and they can also buy them with some luck–the pieces are–of course–unique. The whole ensemble Kendall wore was worth approximately $600,000.

Her nail artist Chaun Peth used Tammy TaylorCrystal Clear‘ acrylics, topped with Epic Pearl Dazzle Pigment Dust and ‘I’m Not Tacky!Gel Top Coat. To get the look, Chaun sculpted square shaped extensions using the double thick gold nail forms.

☞ A ‘nail form’ sits under the nail and acts as a temporary base for applying gel or acrylic, helping you build the nail to the desired length and shape. They are removed once the nail is built.
