Would you like to read about a woman who’s bound to become a sensation? Well, let me talk about Olivia Cooke, then.
She was breathtaking for the virtual 2021 Oscars. It’s sad she had to tune in from London, because the dress she wore was definitely red carpet worthy.
The gorgeous Cooke wore a shimmery pink Atelier Versace creation (Look 18) from the Spring/Summer 2021 collection. The dress was entirely covered in diagonal, fringe-effect crystal embroidery.

The look was paired with Sandra Cronan Art Deco natural pearl and diamond vintage pendant earrings. The intricacies of the dress were the center of attention and surely anything more would have been too much.
Working with stylists Alexandra Cronan and Kate Foley, the actress told Vogue.com that she wanted to pay homage to some of cinema’s legendary icons: “As it was my first Oscars—albeit virtual—I wanted to celebrate Old Hollywood. After falling in love with that dress, I felt like it was only right to try and pay homage to two Hollywood legends: Veronica Lake and Lauren Bacall.”
“As soon as I tried it on at my first fitting it struck me as appropriate for an event as special as the Oscars. It’s such a rare, intricate, and elegant piece and I’ve never worn anything like it. It felt so good to wear something like that after a year with very few—any—excuses to dress up.”
