Mira Chai Hyde


Mira Chai Hyde is a Los Angeles-based groomer.

Her expertise barbering with scissor over comb, grooming beards and mustaches, and men’s makeup, has made her a go-to for clients such as Lucky Blue Smith, David Beckham, Michael Phelps, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matthew McConaughey, and Kendrick Lamar, John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, U2, Sting, Eminem, and Sam Smith.

In 1992, Mira created the haircut, the “Faux-Hawk,” known as the Hoxton Fin in London, which was copied world-wide. She transformed Hugh Grant’s image when she cut his hair for the movie About a Boy; the haircut came to be known as the “Hugh Grant Cut”.

Mira has been entrusted as the Head of Hair and Makeup for multiple shows for Alexander McQueen (including “The Hunter,” “Dante,” “Le Poupee,” and many more).

She is also the creator of House of Skuff, a haircare line named after a dog she cared for. It sadly died in 2011.
