Mélanie Inglessis is a French makeup artist and educator.

Inglessis is well known in fashion circles for her ability to make her clients’ skin appear to radiate from within, creating flawless, light-bearing skin punctuated by a hint of rock n’ roll.

Born in Montreal, raised in Paris and educated at the London College of Fashion, Mélanie began her career working for Shu Uemura, MAC and Smashbox. After leaving school, Mélanie honed her technique under some of the most celebrated makeup artists of our generation: Charlotte Tilbury, Pat Mcgrath and Val Garland.

She is the go-to makeup artist of Olivia Wilde. Other famous faces she has painted include Kate Hudson, Lea Michele, Rachel Weisz, Gwen Stefani and Miley Cyrus.

Today, she travels to Paris, London, New York, Los Angeles and beyond, working with her celeb clientele; you can also spot her makeup looks in the pages of ELLEHarper’s Bazaar and Tatler.

Her makeup philosophy is to really try not to have her clients be overshadowed by the makeup, empowering them to walk the red carpet feeling sexy, confident and good in their skin. So it’s just a matter of finding the right balance to make a statement with the makeup, but still respecting and understanding the client—what they are and how they represent theirselves on the red carpet.

Most of the time, Mélanie Inglessis’ inspiration comes from the outfit because that’s what the client chooses first. Then, once the glam team knows the outfit, it becomes a collaboration between the hair and makeup, the stylist and how her client feels.
With editorial, it’s different, but the starting point of the look for red carpet is always the outfit.

She is represented by Forward Artists and you can find her portfolio HERE
